The effects of MND significantly impacts the person diagnosed with MND and their family and friends, who live with the effects of MND for a lifetime.


The effects of MND include:

• Muscle weakness and wasting

• Muscle twitching and cramps

• Difficulty swallowing

• Slurred or loss of speech

• Gradual paralysis

• Emotional Fatigue

• Weight loss

• Dependence on others for all aspects of day-to-day activities

• Immobility


The speed of disease progression varies significantly from patient to patient.
